What is Reiki?
(Rei) means spirit.
(Ki) means energy.
Reiki is the Japanese term for Universal Life Force or energy (also referred to as Qi in Chinese Medicine). It is a non-invasive, system of light touch (similar to the laying on of hands), that utilizes the natural energy of the body to adjust and heal physical, mental and emotional imbalances.
How is Reiki Performed?
Reiki is performed through a technique similar to the "laying on of hands." It is both a powerful and gentle healing technique. A typical Reiki treatment involves the placement of the practitionerís hands in specific hand positions at multiple locations above or lightly on the body. Reiki is performed over oneís clothes, so there is no need to disrobe. It is gentle and entirely painless. At the end of a treatment, it is common to feel calm and deeply relaxed.
What Can Reiki Treat?
Reiki is commonly used to treat stress,boost the immune system, alleviate aches and pains, emotional blockages, speed the healing process as well as to help alleviate the symptoms/effects of cancer, arthritis, diabetes and many other ailments.
There are no contraindications for its use, as Reiki is a non-invasive, gentle and safe therapy.
